Breaking Ground on Our First Spec Home

Meet The Ryan

Across the street from where it all began, we’re breaking ground on something new.

Before Haus of Travertine was a studio, a name, or even a vision, it was simply a house. A lived-in, well-loved home filled with five kids, unfinished to-do lists, morning chaos, and moments of quiet beauty in between.

That home became the very first Haus of Travertine remodel.
Our sweet namesake.
The OG.

It wasn’t meant to be a portfolio piece. It was simply a family home shaped with intention, patience, and a belief that beauty doesn’t come from perfection — it comes from care.

And now, just across the street, we’re beginning again.

We’re excited to share that Haus of Travertine is officially breaking ground on our first ever new build — and our very first spec home.

Meet The Ryan.

Where Soul Meets Structure

This home marks an important milestone for us. Not because it’s bigger or newer, but because it represents the evolution of something we’ve always believed: Thoughtful design and real life can — and should — coexist.

At Haus of Travertine we often say: Where soul meets structure. That idea is what drives everything we create.

Haus of Travertine itself was built on partnership — both in life and in work.

Jestine, our founder and principal designer, and her husband Tyler, our contractor and builder, started this business side by side. Designer and builder. Wife and husband. Parents to five young children.

Every decision they’ve made — from layout to materials to finishes — has been shaped by daily life.

Toys on the floor.
Muddy shoes by the door.
Meals around the table.
The kind of wear that only comes from living fully in a space.

That philosophy is woven into everything we do.

Designing a Home for Real Life

The Ryan will be no different.

This home is being designed and built for a family who truly lives in it.

For mornings that are loud.
For afternoons that are messy.
For evenings that feel calm — even when the house isn’t.

It’s a home that values durability as much as beauty.
Intention as much as aesthetics.

Materials are chosen not just for how they look on day one, but for how they will age over time — gaining character and warmth alongside the people who live with them.

The goal is never perfection.

The goal is a home that holds life well.

A Project That Feels Personal

When The Ryan is complete, it won’t just be another project in our portfolio.

It will become part of our own everyday life.

This home sits just across the street from the house that started everything — the place where Haus of Travertine was quietly taking shape long before it had a name.

In many ways, this build feels like a continuation of that story.

A new chapter.
